Blinkenlights

In an attempt to keep the dust of what I've learned back in school, I once again started a couple electronics projects. Mainly microcontroller and LED based, tho. A 7-Segment-Display here, an ATtiny13-based 6-LED bargraph replacement for my harddisc LED there, and there are still a couple stepper motors I have lying around that would like to get my attention. And last but not least, there's the 12-LED binary clock that I want to build for a buddy of mine.

Simple Atmel AVR Programmer for the serial portAll this was possible with finally finding the parts for a proper DIY programmer. I took the idea and basic circuit layout design of Ladyada's MiniPOV3 and soldered it to a simple 6-pin header whose layout I took from one of the official Atmel programmers (I think). I'm sharing the circuit layout alike 'cause I felt obliged to do so due to ladyada's CC licensing. The actual hardware is a breadboardless, freely hanging construction fixed with heatshrink tubes and hot-glue, mainly as a reminder that It works! and that I should Never get the idea of changing it now!

And so I've finally programmed my old tinys (dating back to week 14 of '05) and some newer mega8s. And a couple more tiny2313s should be on their way, along with a bunch of 7-segment displays. I wonder how long it'll take me to get started on the main reason behind all this, the 12-LED binary clock that I promised to work on...
